Annual service inspection in an underground parking facility

Two of our service technicians, Christian Middelbo and Torben Sibbern, have visited a fully automatic parking garage at one of our customers for the annual service inspection, and in the photos Christian is seen servicing one of the AGA systems.

Why is there a need for gas detection in a parking facility?

Carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and hydrocarbons (petrol fumes) are toxic gases that occur in parking garages. There may therefore be a risk of fuel spillage if, for example, there is a leak on a fuel hose or tank. Since gasoline is flammable and its vapors can be explosive, gas detection is often a necessity. An atmosphere hazardous to health can also easily arise, and therefore gas detection and effective ventilation may be necessary. The detectors activate the ventilation in the event that the concentration of the harmful vapors becomes too high.

Then.. What happens for a service inspection?

For a service inspection, the systems are tested and calibrated, and our service technicians ensure that all safety requirements are met. Our service technicians always finish a service inspection by preparing service reports with all relevant information from the work carried out, as well as when the next service inspection should be carried out.

With this service inspection, Christian and Torben have ensured that our customer continues to have a secure workplace and a safe parking space for all the cars!

Geopal provides various solutions for monitoring toxic and explosive gases in parking garages, whether fully automatic or not, and you can see a selection of our references here.
