Founded in 1985 in a basement in Ballerup, Geopal has grown over the past four decades into a modern company based in Farum. With a dedicated team of 30 employees and an in-house production delivering over 5,000 units annually, we’re proud of our evolution.

From Niche Idea to Key Supplier
In 2002, our current director, Christian Møller, took the helm, initiating a new phase that included relocating to Vedbæk, developing new products, and strengthening our organization.
A notable example of our product development is the GP-NOVA detector, widely used in areas like Power-to-X. Meeting various standards, including SIL2, it’s designed with user-friendliness, durability, and modern technology like Bluetooth and a mobile app.
“With the development of our SIL2-certified GP-NOVA, we’re hitting the market spot on,” says Christian Møller, highlighting its intuitive and efficient operation.

In-House Production: Strength and Flexibility
Our in-house production is a cornerstone of Geopal’s operations. It enables us to deliver promptly, respond flexibly, and develop solutions tailored precisely to our customers’ needs, be it standard solutions or custom-designed systems. Our experienced team can swiftly implement adjustments or create bespoke products to meet urgent requirements.
Customized Solutions for Specific Needs
Collaborating closely with our clients, we’ve delivered numerous tailored projects, from aspirant systems in the Nordhavn Tunnel and Esbjerg Harbor to specialized GP-NOVA setups in Frederikshavn. We’ve also developed solutions for pipe and duct installations, now utilized across various sectors demanding high safety and precision standards.

We systematically prioritize quality and safety. Our solutions are certified according to standards like ATEX, IECEx, SIL2, and ISO 9001:2015, and we hold DBI approval. Ensuring our products meet both national and international requirements is crucial, because they need to perform when it matters most.

“We keep our promises. If we make a mistake, we correct it. We don’t shirk responsibility,” says Christian Møller, emphasizing our long-standing customer relationships built on mutual trust and respect.
Additionally, we maintain a low employee turnover, ensuring stability, continuity, and strong internal collaboration.
Geopal is entirely owner-financed, with no external investors or debt. “Our growth has been organic from day one. We’ve funded everything ourselves and own all our assets, from buildings to vehicles and equipment. That gives us a level of independence and security you won’t find many places in this industry,” says Christian Møller. “We work exclusively with gas detection. We develop detectors for many different types of gases, but this is our core, and we stick to what we do best.”

Practical Guidance Rooted in Experience
One of the key reasons why Geopal has earned long-lasting customer relationships is our ability to provide real-world guidance on gas detection solutions. Over the years, this has made us a trusted partner in both small-scale setups and large-scale industrial projects.
Christian Møller also represents Geopal in the Danish Standards Committee, where he contributes to shaping regulations and safety standards across industries, based on decades of hands-on experience.
A Strong and Growing Service Team
Geopal’s service department has grown from a one-man effort, where Christian Møller himself handled service inspections to a nationwide team of 16 dedicated technicians.
We install, calibrate, and maintain gas detection systems across Denmark, offering both preventive service and emergency support. Our technicians regularly attend refresher training and annual ATEX courses to stay updated on the latest regulations and best practices.
Looking Forward
Even with 40 years behind us, our focus remains firmly on the road ahead. Workplaces are becoming more complex, and the demand for accurate, compliant, and documented gas detection is greater than ever.
“If you don’t evolve, you fall behind. Our focus is still on specialization and quality, because that’s what keeps us at the forefront,” says Christian.
