Service technician Leif visited a hall as cold as ice!
In the hall’s compressor room Geopal’s stand-alone gas detector GP-ELK is installed and monitors the toxic gas ammonia.
Ammonia, also known as NH3 is a colorless, toxic and flammable gas with a penetrating and unpleasant smell, and can be fatal to both humans, animals and the environment! If the gas is leaked, it is GP-ELKs’ task to raise the alarm, so that the process is shut down and alerts the employees in time.
Ammonia is a popular refrigerant that many workplaces use. This can be, for example, at industrial refrigeration companies, pharmaceutical companies, server rooms, cruise terminals, power plants and many more.
Although many different types of workplaces use ammonia, this does not mean that they must have the same gas detector or alarm. The need for gas detection and the requirements for alarm systems can look very different. Physical framework and special safety requirements can have a great impact on how the facility is to be put together. It may also be that a customized solution is necessary.
When Leif visited this hall he ensured that all the special safety requirements were met so that our customer continued to have a safe workplace!
