Are you melting away by this hot weather and is your A/C working overtime?

Our service technician Leif visited one of our customers, who supplies district cooling. District cooling provides chilled water for indoor cooling purposes to industrial, commercial, and residential buildings and helps us overcome this heat!

So, did Leif go there to cool down? Probably. But he also visited our customer to make sure they have a safe workplace as they use ammonia as a refrigerant. Ammonia, also known as NH3, is a colorless and toxic gas with a penetrating and unpleasant smell, and can be fatal to both humans, animals, and the environment.

To secure the workplace and the employees, Geopal has previously installed the gas detectors GJ-C together with the gas alarm monitor GJ-03R to detect ammonia and give an alarm in the event of a leak. For the service inspection, all gas detectors were tested and calibrated to ensure that all safety requirements were met so our customer have a safe workplace – and we can stay cool!

Gas alarms for refrigeration systems are complex. We often get questions regarding gas alarms for refrigerating systems, which is why we have written this article. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
