Service visit under the tower

Normally you would want to explore the top of the tower – and especially in this case, as there is an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful 360 degree view!

Jan, our skilled service technician, did the opposite and went under the tower..

Under the tower is a CO2 refrigeration compressor, and when CO2 is used as a refrigerant, the room must be equipped with gas alarms calibrated for the current gas. That is why Jan has commissioned GP-CO2 detectors with a GPU-45A central, which aims to monitor the concentration of the CO2 refrigerant and alert in the event of any leakage of CO2, so that it can be stopped.

Carbon dioxide, i.e. CO2, is a gas that we are exposed to to some extent every day, without any problems, but in high concentrations CO2 displaces the oxygen in the air and has a suffocating effect. It becomes dangerous if we are exposed to CO2 in high concentrations, and when we reach 40,000 ppm, it becomes dangerous for our health. If you are exposed to high concentrations of CO2, you will experience headaches, dizziness, difficulty breathing and palpitations, among other things. If you are exposed to 100,000 ppm, you will become unconscious and possibly have a convulsion, and at over 200,000 ppm you will die in a few minutes!

Detection is therefore often a necessity, and that is precisely why Jan visited one of our refrigeration customers – to continue to secure the workplace and its employees!
