A power plant of ice and fire

It was a cold day when our service technician Leif Andersson visited a power plant in Zealand for the annual service inspection..

However, Leif received a warm welcome from our customer and with a hot pot of coffee, he quickly got ready for today’s task!

Since our customer has heat-producing systems, they use refrigerants such as ammonia, and therefore, among other things, gas detectors GJ-EX and GP-SA-V have been installed in the intake, which both detect the toxic and flammable gas ammonia (NH3).

For the service inspection, all gas detectors were tested and calibrated, and Leif has ensured that all safety requirements are met, so that they continuously monitor any gas leaks and give an alarm when limit values are reached. In the event of an alarm, signals will be sent to the control room, after which the plant will automatically shut down and alert the power plant’s employees, while the level of leakage is still low with minimal risks as a result.

When working with refrigerants, which are dangerous for both you, your workplace and the environment, gas detection is necessary. That is why it is essential to have a professional service partner who can advise you and your company, so that both you and your employees can work safely and securely every single day.

Fortunately, Leif and the rest of our service team are only a call away – so don’t hesitate to contact us.
