Gas detection at a distillery

Two of our service technicians, Sebastian and Leif, vistied Empirical – a ‘flavor company’ located on Refshaleøen when it was time for the annual service inspection.

For a service inspection, the gas detectors are tested and calibrated, and our service technicians ensure that all safety requirements are complied with. Subsequently, an electronic service report is submitted. We ensure high uptime in our customers’ production by minimizing the risk of downtime and fault alarms through continuous service.

Before the gas detectors can be calibrated, the associated system must first be deactivated. This is also why our AGA system in the picture has been reset. Then Sebastian and Leif can test and calibrate the gas detectors, and in the picture Sebastian is seen with our GJ-EX gas detector, which is an explosion-proof detector that detects for ethanol, commonly known better as alcohol. As there may be a risk of the development of toxic gases and vapors as well as the risk of explosion during the production of ethanol at a distillery, it is important to ensure the employees and any visitors.

A gas detector from Geopal continuously monitors the gas development and thus creates a safe working environment, and you can therefore safely visit Empirical – however, our gas detectors cannot also control your alcohol level, so here we disclaim responsibility!
